On the 24th of December 2019 I started capturing pieces of everyday life on video, using my cell phone. I decided to do it for 59 days, in a kind of instant interpretation of reality.

Without being too revealing of my body, these images reveal parts of my intimacy: gaze, places, people, moods, landscapes, aspirations. There are also traces that denounce my presence, such as footsteps, hair and shadows. What catches my attention and why? How do I see? Light, sounds, colors, textures and shapes are of great importance, being the true protagonists along with the events. What catches my attention and why? How do I see? One of the premises of this project was to record only when something really asked for it, without the obligation to make daily or weekly records. These were moments of opening, of stepping out into the world. There were also times when experience was more important than filming and the ability to distinguish the two became important. No moment was staged, there was an acceptance of reality as it was. Walking is the main action present throughout the film, conveying the idea of movement, continuity and the passage of time. The images were organized in chronological order and without any type of filter. The main editing work involved the selection of recorded moments and their duration, which dictated the pace of the film. The moments of absence of sound work as windows to open spaces, transporting you to the interior, to the noises that are present in the spectator’s space or to their own breathing. As I put the files in order, an inevitable curiosity grew in me to know what would come next, as if I were drawing my destiny, even if it was minutes or days late. In the end, I realize the main themes present, sometimes recurring: nature, industrialization, transformation, solitude, group, travel. This documentary is a reflection of what my life was like in this period of time, which, without documenting it, would have been exactly the same, but maybe not exactly the same…
